EuroCanals Guides CD-ROM 2008 Edition is now available, the eighth annual update for this comprehensive e-book of waterway maps and guides useful for planning a holiday or live-aboard cruise at the helm of a barge or canal cruiser on the inland waterways of Europe.

Hundreds of large maps & photos are included:
The CD-ROM is in PDF format, for use on PC/Windows or Mac computers. The 746-page e-book contains more than 100 maps showing details of the European waterways and over 500 photos. Photos are sized for optimum display on a computer screen (800X600 pixels); they show sights along the canals and rivers, but more importantly they display waterway details and specialized cruising techniques, such as locking, mooring and operating manual lift-bridges.

All significant waterways are shown on maps of the individual countries; the waterways are indexed to tables of important dimensions: Length of waterway (kilometers), Number of Locks and Lock Size, Draft and Height. This information is essential in planning a cruise aboard a particular vessel, e.g. will the size of the vessel be compatible with each waterway along the route? Also included are articles on buying a barge or canal cruiser in Holland or France, as well as tips on traveling in Europe: passports/visas, money & banking, taxes, vessel registration, skipper’s licenses, traveling with pets and other personal advice.
